My Blush Stash

Growing up, I was never really conscious about the way I looked. Back in college, my "primp and prettify kit" was limited to a pressed powder and a bunch of lip balms. It did not help that I went to a school where people do not really care as much about looks as compared to the grades that were stamped on their transcripts ( well, i'm a proud UPian) . After graduation, I had an almost-2 years stint as a med rep for a multinational pharmaceutical corporation. This was when my love affair with makeup was born. While I was not entirely giddy with my job at that time, I was happy that it gave me an excuse to tinker with makeup and paint colors in my face. Three intermittent jobs after, I find that my addiction towards anything prettifying has grown to an almost alarming scale.
Of all makeup items, I have always been partial to blushes. I love how they can instantly make me look radiant and glowing even during days when I'm stressed. It is no wonder, therefore, that I spend a chunk of my moolah on any blush that catches my fancy. Of course, I had to check out several beauty blogs and online fora so I would know which would be worth buying. After a year or so of silently lurking at beauty blogs and learning a lot from them, I feel that it is only about right that I return the favor by sharing my thoughts on some makeup and skin care items through this blog.
Let me start with my blush collection. These blushes were accumulated within just a period of one year. If you are not into makeup, you'd probably say that this is kinda excessive. After all, a blush is only applied one to three times a day. If you are a makeup enthusiast however, I'm sure you'd disagree. As what beauty bloggers would say, there is no such thing as having too many blushes. There would always be that itch to get more lol. The blushes I currently have are the following:
1. Nars Blush in Orgasm
2. Cargo Blush in Catalina
3. Cargo Blush in Louisiana
4. MAC Blush Refill in Pinch Me
5. The Body Shop Blush in Blushing Daisies
6. Loreal Blush Delice in Fresh Papaya
7. Elianto Baked Blush in Natural Purple
8. Kanebo T'estimo Pink Blush
9. ELF Blush in Glow
10. ELF Blush in Coy
11. Avon Jillian Dempsey Blush in Heavenly Rose
12. Avon Mousse Blush in Peach
13. Avon Mousse Blush in Apricot Flush
14. Lumiere Minerals Blush in Fresh Roses
15. Lumiere Minerals Blush in Ditto "O"
16. Lumiere Minerals Blush in Poppy
17. Everyday Minerals Pressed Blush in All Smiles
I alternately use these when I go to work and when I meet with friends. Depending on my mood and my need, I apply any of these on my cheeks using a blush brush to instantly prettify me. I apologize for not posting swatches of these blushes. First and foremost, I need to get a decent camera to capture the shades and nuances of these babies. Second, I'm kinda too busy right now to get blush swatches that anybody would find useful. Nonetheless, I promise to do so as soon as I can. While it may already take a lifetime for me to use up all these, I still have blush lemmings to satisfy. On top of the list are NARS Desire, Benefit Coralista, Cargo The Big Easy. Any other suggestions?
This is it for now. Tata!

Mushy BUT so so TUMPAK!

If you love someone, ask them for nothing. Don't hold them back from their destiny. Don't keep them from going off in search of their own answers.

Don't ask them for commitment. You will know commitment is real when it is something given willingly and not as something obligatory.

Don't ask them for promises. If you are patient, if you have faith, you will know in your heart when the right time for promises has come.

And when that time arrives, then you will see that you have both lost nothing by setting each other free, and have instead gained a richer, fuller life, a wealth of experiences, and a stronger certainty of your desires.

But should they not return to you, then life hasn't cheated you because no promises were broken.

Your bitterness will not last long, and you will feel thankful and blessed that at the very least, this beautiful soul has colored your life, that knowing them has already made life infinitely more meaningful.

By setting a person free, you run a risk of them not returning. But always remember that you found them beautiful precisely because they were free.

People are like sunlight. You can feel their warmth, and their glow, but you can't hold them in your hand and keep them with you forever.

People choose to stay. But a choice is made more meaningful when it is made despite so many other options.

Love has no restrictions and it is through mistakes that sometimes we see the right answer. Because if you love someone, you ask them for nothing and they will come back to you.

P.S. i lifted this from a forwarded email... i just can't resist but post this here as its message moved me and made me come up with certain realizations about my relationships.

BLOGGING DEBUT

hello Philippines and hello world! I'm Ems. I'm launching this blog as I want this to be a virtual witness to my life ( my ups, downs, and everything in between). I hope to form lasting online friendships with people who are also very active in the blogging world. Ciao!
